Roofing Installation

New roof installation for new builds and full tear-offs.

NextGen HIG installs new roofs from the deck up using manufacturer-certified assemblies, engineered underlayments, and code-compliant ventilation. Every installation is built to shed water, breathe correctly, and last decades — not just look good on day one.

Our crews have been installing asphalt, architectural, designer, and metal systems across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut since 2006. We pull permits, coordinate inspections, and hand off a clean, documented job backed by both manufacturer and workmanship warranties.

Whether you're finishing a new build, converting from an old system, or upgrading after storm damage, we spec materials for your region's weather patterns and your home's architecture — then install them right the first time.

What's included

Every roofing installation project includes

  • Deck Inspection & Prep

Full inspection, fastener checks, and replacement of any rotted sheathing before underlayment goes down.

  • Ice & Water Shield

Self-adhering membrane at eaves, valleys, and penetrations to prevent ice dam damage.

  • Synthetic Underlayment

Tear-resistant synthetic underlayment across the full deck for a secondary waterproof layer.

  • Architectural Shingles

Premium architectural or designer shingles with manufacturer-certified installation.

  • Ridge Vent & Flashings

Balanced ridge/soffit ventilation, step flashing, counter flashing, and pipe boots — all code-correct.

  • Full Cleanup

Magnet sweeps, debris haul-off, and a final walkthrough before we leave the site.

When to call us

Signs you need roofing installation

Catch these early and roofing installation repairs stay simple — ignore them and you're paying for interior damage on top of the exterior fix.

  • Building a new home or addition

New construction needs a complete roofing assembly from deck up — underlayment, ice and water shield, ventilation, and flashings all specified together.

  • Converting from an old system

Switching from three-tab to architectural shingles, asphalt to metal, or low-quality to premium systems calls for a full installation, not a repair.

  • Your existing roof is beyond repair

Widespread granule loss, multiple leaks, curling, or exposed mat mean it's time to start over with a correctly installed system.

  • Failed previous installation

If an earlier contractor nailed too high, skipped ice and water shield, or butchered the ventilation, a reinstall is cheaper in the long run than patching their work.

  • Upgrading for resale

A new architectural shingle roof with a transferable manufacturer warranty is one of the highest-return upgrades before listing a home.

  • Insurance-required replacement

Carriers increasingly refuse to renew policies on roofs past a certain age. A new install with warranty registration restores insurability.

Materials & options

Systems we install for roofing installation

We don't push a preferred brand — we spec the system that fits your building, climate, and ownership horizon. Here's what we install and when each makes sense.

  • Architectural asphalt shingles

The default for most NJ, PA, and CT homes. GAF Timberline HDZ and Owens Corning Duration are our go-tos — 25-to-lifetime warranties, strong wind ratings, and broad color availability.

  • Designer / luxury shingles

Thicker, dimensional shingles that mimic slate or shake (GAF Grand Sequoia, Owens Corning Berkshire). Choose these for high-visibility architecture or when the roof is a primary design feature.

  • Standing-seam metal

Concealed-fastener metal panels rated 40-50+ years. Ideal for modern builds, low-slope sections, and coastal properties where longevity and wind resistance justify the premium.

  • Stone-coated steel

Metal shingles with a stone finish — metal lifespan, shingle appearance. A strong pick for homeowners who want long life without the industrial look of standing seam.

  • Synthetic underlayment + ice & water shield

Tear-resistant synthetic underlayment across the full deck, self-adhering ice and water shield at eaves, valleys, and penetrations. Non-negotiable on every install.

  • Ridge-vent ventilation system

Balanced intake (soffit) and exhaust (ridge) ventilation sized to attic volume — extends shingle life, prevents ice dams, and keeps attic moisture under control.
